It’s not hard to sing the praises of the ICATT Apprenticeship Program.
Just ask Darragh Staunton, President of BBS Automation Chicago, an ICATT Network Company. Staunton often answers questions from parents of potential participants, and he makes it clear that he would put his own children in the program (and probably will someday).
Why? The work is interesting, challenging, and necessary – it’s impossible to get bored. And every apprentice earns an education that extends beyond the classroom.
“When I sit down and I’m looking at five or six interviewees for a certain job, I would pick the person that has the practical experience, specifically through an apprenticeship program, over a degreed engineer,” said Staunton.
